Adam Leckey – take a bow young man!

The fifth YODI match today for Cricket Ireland U19 wrapped up their tour of Zimbabwe. It was a fantastic experience for our trio of youth players James West, Adam Leckey and Seb Yeates but it was Adam who featured heavily in today’s victory to prevent a clean sweep by Zimbabwe.

Adam scored 91 not out in 100 balls to help Ireland post a winning total of 205 with almost 3 overs remaining. This helped him amass an impressive total of 323 runs for the tour, at a very healthy 80.75 run average.

CSNICC Chairperson, Andrew Cowden, commented;

“As a club we’re absolutely delighted to have three CSNI players representing Ireland U19 for the tour of Zimbabwe. I would like to congratulate all three and it is testament to the hard work CSNI has put into youth development over the years and most importantly giving these young players senior opportunities to further their development. Our previous and current group of youth internationals serve as excellent role models for the next generation at CSNI, showing what can be achieved through dedication and hard work.

A special mention though to Adam Leckey who has had an outstanding tour. I’d like to congratulate Adam on his fantastic performances and we look forward to plenty of runs from Adam at Stormont this season.”
