Womens: CSNI 1st XI v North Down 1st XI

POTM: Jemma Gillan 67* & 1-17

Today at Stormont, the 1XI took on North Down in the league. CSNI won the toss and decided to bat.

It was a rocky start for CSNI losing 6 wickets for 22 runs within the first 8 overs. This brought J.Gillan and A.Cowan together in the 8th over. They creaated a good parnership of 117 runs defending the good balls and putting away the bad ones for boundaries. J.Gillan scoring 67* (11 x 4s) and A.Cowan with 39* (4 x 4s). This pushed the team on to a respectable total of 136-6 off 20 overs.

CSNI bowled extremely well in search of key wickets that needed to be taken. J.Gillan and E.Calvert bowled well together ending with figures of 2-16 and 1-17 respectively. CSNI continued the attack with A.Fisher and E.Wilson who bowled very tightly to restrict the North Down total and picking up 3 wickets between them. S.Thomas joined the bowling attack picking up a LBW and a catch by J.Gillan. North Down finished their innings on 100-8 off their 20 overs leaving CSNI the winners by 36 runs.
