Womens: Waringstown 1st XI v CSNI 1st XI

CSNI won the toss and chose to bowl first away to Waringstown, on Wednesday night. CSNI knew it would be a competitive game and bowled well despite only taking one wicket.

V.Minford was the stand out bowler taking the crucial wicket of N.Matthews for 55 in the 13th over. This brought together at the crease C.Murray and A.Caufield, the pair putting on 87 runs between them. Waringstown finished their innings on 191-1 in their alloted 20 overs.

CSNI chased well to end their 20 overs with 146-5. After losing two early wickets Sophie Thomas then put on 23 before being stumped. Runs from J.Gillan and E.Carville were crucial.

A.Cowan came to the middle and batted smartly. Running well between the wickets she finished her innings on 49*. E.Wilson joined her and the pair put on a good 79 run partnership to bring the innings to a close leaving CSNI short of the target by 46 runs.

Next up is North Down, in the league, at home on Sunday.
