CSNI took on Muckamore in the second league match of the season on a cold and damp morning at Moylena.
CSNI won the toss and opted to bat first. After an early wicket, A.Adair (32) joined S.Rountree (44*) at the crease where the two remained for most of the innings putting on a strong 92 run partnership. CSNI’s batting innings was brought to a premature end by the rain with the score finishing on 115-2 off 15 overs.
Muckamore’s target was set by DLS with them going in to bat needing an ambitious 137 from 15 overs. E.Calvert started the bowling very well dispatching the opening batter for 1. This was followed up with some very tight bowling from A.Fisher (0-4), E.Carville (0-8) and S. Thomas (1-9). The bowling efforts along with some great fielding restricted Muckamore to 85-3 leaving CSNI the winners by 51 runs (DLS).
Player of the Match was Sarah Rountree with 44* in an important partnership that formed the backbone of CSNI’s innings.
