An outstanding effort from a mixture of youth and experience saw CSNI 5s fall just short against a table-topping Ardent Blues 2s in the Cup.
Jonathan Tate and Isaac Phillip put together a good partnership of 69 for the first wicket before Isaac nobly retired for Walshy to smack a quick fire 16. Mark Pollard and Aoife Fisher then put together an improvised and entertaining display to get the final total up to 136!
Aayush Bhari continued his fine form with a superb 5 over spell, taking a brilliant catch in the process. Luke Fisher and Ben Bingham fielded well, seeing a lot of the ball and saved a lot of runs. John Neill and Vinay Singh bowled very tightly and Luke Fisher bowled their big hitter!
In the end, it just wasn’t enough to cause a cup upset but it was a throughly enjoyable afternoon of cricket. Good luck to Ardent Blues in the next round!
