Donacloney Mill 2nd XI v CSNI 3rd XI

New 3rd XI skipper, Gareth Lutton, won the toss and chose to bowl on May Day at Donacloney, where it was a relief to get the season underway after the recent bad weather.

After an early wicket from Ollie Dyer, with a caught and bowled, Donacloney started to bat well. The main contribution coming from their number 3, Ryan McCart, who made a hard hitting 84 before being bowled by Matthew Kennedy. CSNI’s spinners, M.Kennedy and C.Monro, brought the game back into CSNI’s hands with figures of 2-19 and 4-23 respectively.

The CSNI innings followed a similar pattern, with opener Pat Lutton batting through the whole innings for a fine 83*, supported by David Kennedy with 20 and Marko Bates with 18. CSNI ran out winners by 3 wickets in the penultimate over. A great start for the team against a strong side who were relegated from the league above last season.
