WOMENS CRICKET COACHING FOR 2024

As the new cricket season fast approaches, we are delighted to announce our coaches for Womens Cricket at CSNICC.

Womens Head Coach – Regan West

Regan is an ECB Advanced Coach (Level 3 Coach) who has significant experience coaching in the Irish pathway with the Irish Cubs (U13 boys) and the NCU pathway with the U13 boys and girls. Regan is also the lead coach for the NCU U16 girls academy and has extensive coaching experience in a number of other high level performance environments. We caught up with Regan recently to hear his views on his new role at Stormont.

Womens Assistant Coach – Chris Elliott

Chris is an ECB Level 2 Cricket Coach which he gained back in 2017. A keen sports person, he is also a qualified rugby referee (IRFU Level 4). Chris shares with us some of his thoughts as he looks forward to the season ahead.

“After three seasons away in England, I’m looking forward to coming back into a strong, positive and talented environment of players who are always seeking to improve and learn. This season will be the most challenging by far, but the girls understand they will have to step it up a gear in all aspects of their game, knowing what lies ahead.”

Andrew Cowden, Head of Cricket Operations at CSNICC comments;

As a club we’re delighted to welcome Regan and Chris into their new roles within our Women and Girls’ section. Regan and Chris are no strangers to everyone at CSNI having been involved in the club previously in various other roles.

Given Regan’s vast amount of cricketing knowledge and experience, I have no doubt that he will, as Womens Head Coach, have a very positive impact in continuing to improve our Womens section and hopefully maintain our success in what is becoming a more competitive womens club environment.

We’re equally delighted to welcome Chris back into our Women and Girls’ section as Assistant Coach and Lead Junior Girls Coach. I’ve no doubt Chris, through his knowledge and enthusiasm, will very ably assist Regan and continue to grow our junior girls’ section as well as developing those younger players through an engaging, fun and challenging programme.

Finally, I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Gareth Thompson and Ross Copeland for all their hard work and time over a very successful three year period and I wish them well in their other roles within our club.
