Our very own Philip Black has been formally announced as the new President of Cricket Ireland following the organisation’s first ‘virtual’ Annual General Meeting on 14th July 2020 held via video-conferencing.
Following a change to the Cricket Ireland Constitution to mitigate extraordinary circumstances such as the current pandemic, the members also voted for Philip's term to extend to the AGM in 2022.
Philip has been a stalwart of our club for many years having been a player and administrator back in the old North of Ireland club and remaining heavily involved after the merger to form the current CSNICC. His service to Irish cricket has also been a lengthy one stretching back many years including being part of the Cricket Ireland Finance Committee for the last 14 years.
The Presidency is a well deserved reward for his commitment to Irish Cricket, helping to see it through to the professional era which we all enjoy today. Many congrats Philip from all at Stormont and best wishes for your term in office - no better man for the job!
