Gary Wilson re-joins CSNICC

Gary Wilson has left Derbyshire CCC by mutual consent and will re-join Civil Service North of Ireland Cricket Club (CSNI).

Despite playing county cricket in England for the past 12 years, Irish international, Gary has always remained close to his home Club and his vast experience will hugely benefit the Club with the 2019 season just around the corner.

Following the announcement Club Chairman, Ivan McMinn, said: “To have Gary return home is really special for the Club. His knowledge and experience will not only benefit our 1st XI but everyone at every level throughout the Club. Gary's return is another step in delivering the long term strategy for success at the Club and I am excited at the prospect of seeing him take to the field at Stormont at the start of next season.”

Gary, 32, returned to Dundonald during the 2018 season and played for the Club in the Gallagher Insurance Challenge Cup.

Club Captain, James Kennedy, said: “The whole squad is delighted with the news. It was brilliant having Gary with us for two matches last season and so we are very excited about having him with us on a permanent basis. His contribution, both on and off the pitch will be invaluable.”

Tim Simmonite, Director of Cricket at CSNI, said: “To have Gary returning to CSNI is an enormous boost for us as a club. As we continue to develop, Gary’s presence and contribution to what we’re aiming to achieve will add huge value. We’re delighted!”

Welcome back Gary!
